Two of the things that Hideaway Golf Club house owners use the the majority are energy and cleaning products. Society, in total, spends a lot of time and cash looking for leading edge paths to live in more environmentally friendly ways. That is all great, but what about our personal lives? As homeowners, we've got a responsibility to do our part to make our planet a safer, healthier place to live. These are some simple tips that can be incorporated into the common-or-garden lives of homeowners:

Typically , we use plenty of cleaning products everyday. Purchasing earth-friendly cleaning products is not just better for the environment – it’s safer for your family’s common-or-garden use. You can also make your own environmentally friendly products using household products like sodium bicarbonate, vinegar and lemon. These are good for cleaning tiles and other surfaces.

Turn off all lights and appliances when you're not using them. You can even go back to the old techniques of our grandparents, who did not believe lights should ever be turned on in the daytime. Since governmental agencies are always complaining of water deficiencies across the planet, it's very vital to preserve water. The best way to try this is to only run water for as long as you need to. As an example, don't overflow bathtubs, or leave water hoses running so long that they just about drown your lawn.

Insulating your house is a good way to save energy, which saves your money. Home insulation keeps your house cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. This cuts back on air con and heater usage. Make sure there are no cracks and openings in window frames and doors. There are cheap ways to try this, using caulking and door accessories. Sealing cracks guarantees that cold and hot air are encircled within the home. This also saves energy by cutting back on air-conditioning and heater uses.

If you use a computer on a day-to-day basis, try swapping your desktop Computer for a laptop computer. Computers use far less energy to power and charge. They're also less complicated to lose when their “life” is over. Take care when selecting paint for your house. Noxious paints are damaging to the environment, and are immediately damaging to you and your family. Try using a safer paint, like Zero-voc. They may be more expensive than standard paints, but they do not contain poisons that are damaging to your lungs.

When you prepare to replace your old appliances, regardless of whether it’s one at a time, replace them with Energy Star rated appliances. They meet awfully firm standards of lower energy use than standard, older models. Replace all your homes ‘ normal light bulbs with compact fluorescent light bulbs. They cost a bit more than standard bulbs, but they last much much longer, and use a lot less energy. In the longer term, that suggests saving you cash.

Rather than throwing away your recyclables, turn your metals, glass, paper, card, aluminium and plastics into cash. Find a recycle center near you and set a schedule for yourself to reuse frequently. Recycling is excellent for the environment. It is also good for putting a little extra cash into your pocket.

Householder, Go Green!

Everybody should be doing their bit to live “greener” to help our environment. It’s our world. it’s our responsibility to reserve it. If we would all just do more to protect it in our regular lives, we would not have to worry about saving it. Homeowners have a vested percentage in their local areas. Greener neighborhoods are rather more attractive to the economy. Help in making your neighborhood a green one by changing the way you and your folks live. And remember – living green is the new way for householders to live.

Non profit graphic design allows for freedom of expression and it brings great results to the company requesting the artwork. It is an industry with high standards even though they donate their time as well as sometimes asking a lower rate. The lower rate is often simply for organizations who do not quite qualify as non profit.

If any low rates are charged or any donations are received for the project, this is used by the graphics company for further development and providing outputs for other organizations. It could also be used to train more staff.

The better design brief the client offers up the greater a variety the designers can come up with. It will also assist in making the task easier as it will give a clear outline which would increase the completion time. The brief should be as clear and to the point as possible so that there are as little as zero comebacks.

As a paid graphic designer you are aware of the fact that time equals income. As a non profit designer time is still a commodity to be savored. The best is, therefore, to have a clear direction to follow right from the start so that you are clear as to what you need to be doing. This will assist greatly in creating the most exact interpretation of the brief toward the overall message.

The client has a clear understanding of what they would like to put out there and this has to be sketched out clearly in the brief. It will allow the artist to present a comprehensive and relevant message for the company.

Many organizations in this field do not only focus on the materials they produce for companies, but they either provide for ongoing training for their own staff or they invest some of the money back into training of young and upcoming designers.

In order for any non profit company to be successful, it needs to have a solid business plan that it can follow, including a non profit marketing plan. In fact, being able to market your company properly is absolutely crucial to its success, since these efforts can lead to brand recognition and increased support. Luckily, with the tips in this article, you may be able to come up with a strategy for success.

Being able to market yourself well is a learned skill. For most people, this does not come easily, since it require years of experience and learning through real life experiences. Fortunately, there are professionals who can help.

There are tons of firms and independent freelancers who offer this service. They may even be able to create and execute the entire plan on your behalf, so you can focus on the things that you do best instead. Some of the services that may be offered include Web, television, mail, radio, and print marketing. They should also be able to provide you with reports to show you how successful their efforts have been.

Many businesses are now using social networking sites to connect with current and potential supporters. This is a great way to let all of your supporters know what your organization is doing and the impact it has been having on the community. You should also consider creating a website for your organization.

Sending out mass emails may also need to be included in your strategy. There are a number of software solutions that can aid you with the entire email cycle. Additionally, you should consider using old fashioned mailers, posters, community outreach, and possibly radio and television advertising.

Though it is possible to create a non profit marketing plan without professional help, you may not want to do this if you do not have any experience in the area. Today, creating a good strategy and executing it well requires a large amount of time on a daily basis and expert knowledge. Professionals, fortunately, can dedicate themselves to these tasks on your behalf, so you can focus on your business instead.

Are you looking to boost your market presence? The Winn Group will assist with each of your marketing plan for non profit organizations needs. Their focus is solely on non-profit and cause-related organizations.

She revolutionized the role of the First Lady. She was revered by the world over. Yet, few today may even know her name. Her role in American history is slowly being forgotten. Perhaps because of the simple passage of time; maybe because today our world moves so fast we can’t keep a handle on the past; or we don’t think it relates to our life today. Remarkably insightful, there are many collections on the quotes she left behind; I’ve included a few of the best ones here.

At a time when women were supposed to remain quiet, she was out on the front lines. She encouraged her husband to continue his political career despite suffering from a crippling disease, she remained by his side and his strongest supporter, even though she knew he was unfaithful. She had character, common sense, and held her own press conferences. She wrote a daily column, and was the eyes and ears and legs of her husband during the economic crises of the 1930’s, and world war in the 1940’s.

She was the heroine of our country during one of its darkest times, and called the Hudson Valley home when not in Washington, or travelling the globe. Actually, she had two homes, in Hyde Park: the one shared with her family (and mother-in-law), and her own cottage just a few miles away which was called Val-Kill. The land was a favorite spot for family picnics, and eventually, her husband leased the land to her to build a stone cottage for her friends and political associates. She considered it her “laboratory” for social change. Do what you feel in your heart to be right- for you’ll be criticized anyway. You’ll be damned if you do, and damned if you don’t

At her death in 1962, her son John remained at the Val-Kill cottage, and sold it in 1970. A group of concerned local citizens opposed the plans to build a senior citizen community, and after protesting before the town board, the request by the new owner was denied. The stone cottage still stands as her testament to public service and in 1999 was designated an American Treasure. She lived on for twenty years after the death of her husband, and after a short illness, died at her Manhattan apartment at the age of 78. At her memorial service, thewell-respected Democratic candidate for the presidency in the 1950’s, Adlai Stevenson asked, “What other single human being has touched and transformed the existence of so many?”

People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built. Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people. That’s why we should remember her on Monday, October 11th. AT the FDR Historic Home in Hyde Park, there will be a celebration of her 126th birthday. Plans call for a wreath laying at her resting spot by her grandson, David.

This is what a cartoon said about her after she died. “She was so revered by the public that a commemorative cartoon published at the time simply showed two angels looking down towards an opening in the clouds with the caption ‘She’s here.’ No introduction was needed.” – Answers.com

Hollywood has always seemed to love films about war. War movies usually reflect true events in some point in time, and usually are serious in nature due to the subject matter. For any great war in history, there seems to have been a movie created about it.

In my opinion, the following are some of the greatest war movies of all time. Forrest Gump does not count.

I have to include Braveheart on this list. Even though I cannot stand Mel Gibson any longer, I can’t let him get the best of me and ruin this film. It is just too good. An absolute masterpiece and a must see for anyone who likes epic films.

Released in 1970, Patton was one of the best biopics of all time, about the controversial United States General of the same name. This film also won best picture of the year, and is considered a classic by any US film history enthusiast.

Tackling the subject matter of World War II is one of the greatest films ever made, Schindler’s List. People think of movies like Jaws, Jurassic Park and E.T. when they think of Steven Spielberg, but in my opinion, this is the most important movie he has ever made.

Another Steven Spielberg directed film, also about World War II that certainly makes my list, is Saving Private Ryan. The first sequence in this movie is one of the most historically important war scenes of all time. A must see for any history enthusiast.

Full Metal Jacket focuses on the Tet Offensive, as well as the mental effects that boot camp had on many soldiers during the Vietnam War. Stanley Kubrick at his finest.

As it stands, these are the movies that I deemed worthy of making the list. A follow up article will be released soon with some other great ones.

Access additional educational articles penned by this same writer regarding subject matters such as truck exhaust tips and exhaust stacks.

TV shows and movies do not accurately depict court reporters do much more than type court proceeding transcript. Not just relegated to court, they also help make accurate transcripts of conversations, speeches, legal proceedings, and other times when it is important to record verbal exchanges on paper. Often these are used for a record and sometimes as legal proof. They are an extremely important piece in legal proceedings. They ensure complete and accurate documentation. Sometimes they assist the judges and the attorneys by not only organizing the records, also searching through them for the information they need. Well versed in courtroom procedure and in administration, they sometimes even have suggestions for the judge and the attorneys. It has been increasingly common that they help provide services, like translation or closed captioning, for those who are hearing impaired so that they can know what is going on in the courtroom. The court reporter role has expanded from the person making written accounts of court proceedings, to doing so many other things.

There are a few different ways court reporting happens. The most often seen is the stenographic method where stenographers record all statements given during proceedings. This is also the kind seen in TV and the movies.

A similar yet different approach is the Communications Access Realtime Translation (CART). In this type stenotype machines are connected to a computer. This helps the hearing impaired because what the stenographer types is seen on a screen. No matter their role in the court room they will know everything that is being said.

While there a various ways of record keeping, different areas need court reporters besides court. When there a hearings and the public attends, they are often in use. They help in documenting the thoughts and opinions that the people have about specific decisions and possibly legislation affect.

Conventions sometimes need records of verbal statements. The people that could not attend can read a record of the happenings. This could be any type of convention including business meetings, seminars, or even award ceremonies.

Sometimes insurance companies decide to look into a person who has filed a claim. Usually they send an investigator to interrogate them. Stenographers can produce a transcript of all of the questions and answers given. These transcripts can affect the state of a claim and whether it’s approved or denied.

Sometimes insurance companies would like more information from the person that filed a claim. Ultimately they send an investigator to ask questions. When stenographers are involved, they write everything down so that there is a clear accurate record of questions and answers. A claim may be either approved or it may be denied depending on how the interview went.

With a lot of previously unknown responsibilities, the importance of court reporters goes unrecognized. They make precise transcripts that are easily legible for the court, but in addition they organize all the records making them easy to find the desired information from, which is especially important during the appeals process. Not just that, but they arrange so that those that are handicapped, or even hard of hearing are able to know what is going on and be a participant in court, if need be. With the increase in the responsibilities of the court reporter role, their knowledge and significance in the judicial process should be recognized.

Have you ever thought about running a wedding car business? Although it can be demanding, because you do not want to let anybody down on their big day, it is also fascinating and exciting.

Some of the benefits are that you get to own good-looking vehicles – maybe a Rolls Royce or a Bentley and they are tax-deductible; you meet new people under happy circumstances and you are in the position to help them have a wonderful wedding day.

It is a very demanding industry, because you always have to bear in mind the desires of your clients and think about how you can realize and expand their’ wishes. That is difficult enough, but you also have to stay competitive. I hope that the following tips will be helpful.

1] Take care of the conditions under which you store your cars. If you can afford to garage them, they will not collect dust and bird droppings so the paintwork will look better for longer. Do not have a gravel drive, because of possible scratching to the coachwork of the cars.

2] Get one or two really lovely cars. You will need to do a bit of research to find out what couples in your area like, but as a rule of thumb a Rolls Royce or a Bentley are sure bets. Or maybe a stretch limousine. Old vehicles go down well too. Build up your fleet of cars step by step but increasingly. Offer your clients as much choice as you can realistically afford to do.

Many marriage couples will not only require the wedding car, but also vehicles for the guests. Many of them want limousines or old vehicles for their wedding day. But a lot of other vehicles are required for the guests. Be adaptable and agree to bedeck the cars according to the couple’s wishes with flowers and ribbons.

2] Employ good, compassionate personnel. A fully trained chauffeur is a necessity, but a military style driver can add to your firm’s image.

3] It is a good idea to offer different packages or elements that a couple can use to build a package. So, you could offer transport from the bride’s house to the church as one element. From the church to the restaurant as another element and from there to the chosen hotel, the airport or the railway station, as another element.

4] Make sure that your clients know exactly how long they have exclusive use of the cars for. This is useful for them, so that they know precisely how long they have to take photos, eat or chat.

Transportation plays a huge and fundamental part in any wedding day celebrations. In fact, poorly timed or scruffy transportation can ruin a wedding day. If you let that happen, your firm’s standing will suffer badly, particularly in a town or village. You will need a high sense of responsibility; reliable, well-trained, sensitive staff and high quality vehicles that look the part. White wedding cars are popular, but other colours are acceptable, especially for the guests.

A NEST pension is a way for you to save money to ensure that you have an income when you retire beyond that which is provided by the state. Typically pensions are provided by employers, or you can set up your own plan that you pay into.

The income that you get from your pension is a function of how much you save, and how what you saved was invested. It is all determined by the size of your pension pot at the time you retire, and an annuity is then paid based on this pot. One alternative style pension is where you are paid based on how many years you have worked for your employer, and what your salary is at the time you stop employment.

The tax advantages of a pension is one of its most attractive features. You can make tax free contributions into the pension up to a maximum limit, and when you retire you may be entitled to a tax-free lump sum. Pensions are a great way to beat the tax man if you manage them correctly.

There are alternative ways to plan for your retirement, such as investments in real estate, but a pension is the safest option for most people. You certainly can’t rely on the pension that the government will give you because that could turn out to be tiny.

While there are other means of saving these usually come with issues of their own. A pension is usually considered the best option, and one of the main reasons is that the extra money you put in receives a tax shield.

The occupational pension, the money purchase pension and the state pension are the three main options that you have as an investor looking to save for your retirement. Occupational pensions are often called “final salary” pensions. The money purchase pension can be from your employer or be used by people who are self-employed.

The UK government’s NEST pension is not a ordinary pension plan. It is aimed at low income workers and more details about it can be found at this web site, just click: http://nestpensionguide.co.uk/

In the Twelfth Century, William de Barri owned Barry Castle, but it was attacked and destroyed by Llewellyn Bren in 1316. It is said that the Cavaliers rebuilt it, but that it was subsequently destroyed again by the Roundheads, never to be rebuilt.

The Normans were hated by the locals and they had to build large mansions to protect themselves from the frequent attacks carried out on them from the people of the valleys and mountains. During the time of Henry III, there were 12 castles within six miles of Barry. In Glamorgan, there were 30 castles and in south Wales as a whole, 150.

Porthkerry and the church lying to its west is said to have taken its name from Ceri, who is said to have founded a port, ie ‘Port Ceri’. People say that Ceri ap Caid, the King of Essyllwg, resided in Porthkerry before the Christian era and that his bard, Corvinor, was the first to have built a ship with sails and a rudder for the race of Cymru. Some believe that Ceri was a nephew or grandson of Caractacus (Caradog) and that he assumed the leadership of the government in South Wales when Caractacus was sent to Rome.

John Wesley later preached from the Porthkerry Church pulpit, and sometimes outside, in 1741, 1742 and 1743. There are two very old churches still in use today St. Cadocs Church in Cadoxton and Merthyr Dyfan Church in Merthyr Dyfan. 150 years ago, Cadoxton was the largest village in the area: eg in 1844 the Parliamentary register contained 25 names: 20 from Cadoxton and five from Barry. The church was dedicated to St. Cadoc, who used to spend Lent on Flat Holm and Barry Island. The village took its name from the church, which was founded in 800 AD.

Merthyr Dyfan Church was founded in 600 AD and the name means Dyfan The Martyr. There were two saints of this name: one came to Barry to Christianize the inhabitants; the second lived in the 6th. Century and was the son of a Welsh chieftain. His sister was also martyred, giving her name to the town of Merthyr Tydfil.

The Christian faith flourished in the Vale of Glamorgan and in the middle of the Second Century, Llewrwg, Prince of Siluria, became the first king of all time to be baptized into the Christian faith anywhere in the world. He sent to Rome for more preachers and was sent Dyfan and Fagan. The former was martyred near the site of the church and the latter was canonized.

Most of what we know or have guessed about Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan in south Wales has come from observing the buildings situated there, the majority of which have been sadly neglected for far too long. There are historical tales, such as the one about Joseph of Arimathea, who traded tin in Glastonbury, just across the water and was one of the first missionaries to go to this area.

Tradition maintains that the father of Caractacus took his son to Rome and was converted to Christianity. They returned to the Vale of Glamorgan with the missionary Bran the Blessed. We do know that Christianity had become fairly popular by the early 4th. Century and that south Wales sent some bishops to the Council of Rome.

Saint Baruch’s Church on Barry Island is one of the oldest places of historic religious interest in the region, but unfortunately, it too has been allowed to become dilapidated. Barry Island was one of the most important places of monastic interest in south Wales and around. The ancient Viking strongholds of Steep and Flat Holms also housed monks and Saint Illtyd’s Seminary in nearby Llantwit Major, which taught 2,200 disciples, was closely linked to it too.

There was an ancient Roman fort and accompanying naval dockyard on Porthkerry Point, which had obviously jutted out further into the sea than it does now and later a castle was built on their ruins. There have been found many wolf and deer bones between Sully and Barry – enough to show that they had existed there in great numbers. There have also been a large number of findings of arrowheads, flints, needles and coins, proving that people were there to prey on them too.

‘The Island’, as it is known locally, was first named Baruch’s Island after St. Baruch, who was found washed up on one its beaches dead in 700 AD. He had been drowned on his return from Flat Holm, where it was common practice for religious students to spend Lent.

He and Gwelches had been disciples of St. Cadoc at the time. On their return to the island, they realized that they had left their enchiridion (religious manual) behind and St. Cadoc made them go back and get it. They never returned alive. St. Baruchs most famous disciple, St. Illtyd was educated there.

Barry Island has had several names, including Island of the Saints and Insular of Peiros. St. Peiro was the leader of the seminary after St. Illtyd and the mentor of St. Samson. St. Doeninas was also a leader of another abbey near Friars Point on the island.
