The open conflict that occurred between the world’s two super powers, the Soviet Union and the United States Of America was thought of as the lengthiest non-conflict engagement war of all time. It was known as the Cold War. The two sides both had respective allies; the NATO lead United States Of America controlling Western Europe and the Warsaw Pact directed through the Soviet Union governing the Eastern side of Europe.
